Mioka 1

- Long ago, back in science class, we learned that light from the stars can take 1,000 or 2,000 years to reach earth, didn't we?
- Yeah.
- So the light from the stars we see now first shined 1,000 to 2,000 years ago. Truth is, that star there might have burned out a long time ago. Stars have it nice.
- Eh?
- Even after they've died, their light'll keep on shining, on and on. When humans die, it's all over. There's nothing left behind.
- That's not true.
- Eh...
- It's not all over once we die, now is it? After all, as long as those who are living remember those who have died, we'll go on living for a long time afterwards, won't we?
